I'll start out by saying, that this wedding showcased Ohio weather at its finest. Canopy Creek is a beautiful venue in Miamisburg, OH. Of course, the bride had her idea of her dream wedding, the ceremony being held down by the creek. Ohio in June had other plans. The temperature dropped and the rains came in (after a long stretch with zero rain and drought like conditions).
On the plus side, this venue has a beautiful barn that was easily converted for the ceremony site but moving a couple of the tables to the sides, creating a lovely aisle and the wedding arch was brought in. The light up marquee lights really made a lovely backdrop and the floor in the barn made an amazing reflection. The staircase coming down from one of the getting ready areas, made the brides grand entrance that much more memorable as well.
The sun came out and the weather turned lovely just in time for some portraits around the property. The large swing, pond, and creek, were just a few areas we explored for portraits of the bride and groom and the rains came back shortly after they entered back inside for their reception.
The gloomy skies stayed around for the sparkler exit which really made for some fun photos. We took advantage of the light sprinkles to get outside and get a few more "sunset" portraits with the clear umbrella (a must for Ohio weddings since you never know what the weather will be doing).
